Har Ki Doon Valley is a cradle shaped hanging valley in the Garhwal Himalayas. It is surrounded by snow-covered peaks and alpine vegetation. It is connected to Baspa Valle by the Borasu Pass. This valley is at an altitude of approx 3500m above mean sea level and is snow-covered from October to March. The trek to the valley passes the villages of Osala, Gangaad, and Seema. This trek provides enjoyment for all age groups as the trek is not too tough, and the valley is full of flora and fauna. One can spend time identifying herbs & shrubs used for Ayurveda. Photography is an activity that will leave an indelible mark on the visitor’s memory, as there is a large variety of birds and mountains to be clicked. The name itself suggests the abode of god Hari God. According to the local folklore, where fairies congregate! In our religious scriptures (Granth), it is mentioned that Pandavs went to heaven (Swarg) through this mountain.
Duryodhan is worshipped as God by a few communities here, and one can get to see the Duryodhan Temple. Within the valley, one can find Trees of Bhojpatra, the rare Bramhakamal, and many varieties of fauna. The area also acts as a base for approaching Swargarohini (alt: 6400.8 meters) Swargarohini and Jaundar Glacier located towards the southeast of Har ki dun. Towards west one can see the Bandar Punch mountain.
Arrive at Dehradun Railway Station early morning and start Drive to Taluka. It is situated at a distance of 220 km from Dehradun in Uttarkashi District. This place is very beautiful which is situated 1900 meters above sea level and offers a magical view of mountains which are blissful to sore eyes.
Lunch on route and overnight stay at forest camp enjoying the night gazing sky full of stars something which cannot be experienced in your regular schedule.
After heavy breakfast leave for Seema which is 15km far from Taluka, enjoy its scenic view while you trek towards Har ki Dun. This is the starting point for adventure and enjoyment of trekking. Overnight stay in camps after a full day of the tiring expedition.
The next destination which covered by trekkers is Osla, after scrumptious breakfast trek towards high mountain ranges (2560 meters above sea level), this place covers vegetation and breathtaking scenic beauty and mountains covered with snow. Feels like you are at the top of the world.
After completing this part of trekking move towards the most prominent and scenic view 12 km upside trekking in order to reach Har Ki Dun. It is located on the base of Fateh Parvat at on height of 3558mts. Valley is surrounded by snow, high mountain peaks, birds, trees, it looks like an ecstasy which will make you fully clad to enjoy your auspicious moment with a striking scenic view.
After long tiredness the next day early morning we trek down from Har Ki Dun to Seema which is 21km away, after enjoying the playful atmosphere and becoming one with nature.
Next Destination is Sankri which forms Seema. You can enjoy sanctuary and park views while moving. Their ambiance gives a pleasant combination to enjoy your journey. Experiencing the habitat of people on Sankari Village which is also known as Paradise of Himalayas.
Sankri to Dehradun(200km by road)
After a successful expedition to Sankri it’s the end of the journey and time to say goodbye to the mesmerizing nature, we will return back to Dehradun .
